Nocino

By Manuela | January 2, 2015 | InBlog, General

I am making ‘Nocino’, a walnut liqueur, from a recipe my grandfather gave to me. He in turn received it from the monks in a convent above Lugano in Switzerland. It is made with green walnuts and my friend Graeme sent me a bag from his tree!

You have to let the walnuts and the ‘Liqueur’ sit in the sun for 30 days.

Look at the colour only after two week!!! Admittedly we have had a very beautiful summer so far and the sun has been very strong! I think I might shorten the ‘steeping’ time a little.
