With Easter just around the corner I thought I might inspire you with these fun, out -of -the -ordinary painted Easter eggs.
We have a family tradition to paint Easter eggs every year. It’s a lot of fun to sit at the table , chatting and being creative. You will be surprised at the stories and anecdotes that come out.
A few years ago my brother Luca and his wife Gabi were visiting us at Tilba. We had just cut hay for silage so large bales were scattered around the paddock .
Armed with spray cans we attacked the bales and created the most amazing decorated ‘ Easter eggs’. Luca is an artist , so his inspiration played a big part.
This year we boiled some eggs with natural dye and others we blew the inside out the egg by making small holes at either end. Samson and Griffin, being trombone and trumpet players, had no problems blowing the egg through the small holes. We used acrylic colours on these eggs. We could also use feathers, glitter, beads and ribbons for decoration on the blown eggs.
When we went to the chickens to collect eggs, we found this one with a totally soft shell !!!
